Royal Wedding Hype
Do you love it or hate it
I am definitely not a big fan of the Royal Family. I don't dislike them as such, I just don't buy into the whole hype surrounding them. That said, Prince Harry has always been my favourite of all of the Royals. Probably because he is close in age to me, and he's always been a bit of a black sheep. I am happy that he is marrying for love and it isn't just his top pick from a bunch of potential wives his family deem "suitable".
I love that Meghan is about as far from traditional Princess material as you can get, too... She's 36, which is pretty old by usual Royal bride ages - Kate Middleton was 29 when she married Prince William. I think the Harry - Meghan marriage will bring the Royal Family out of the dark ages and into the 21st Century. I can't help but wonder if she will be subject to British Immigration laws though.... Do you have to sit the UK Citizenship test if you marry a Prince?
I can't imagine Harry keeping it as formal as Royal Weddings traditionally are - I am sure he will find ways to sneak a bit of himself into the day. I reckon Meghan and Harry could both carry off Converse instead of formal footwear - what do you think?
People keep asking me who I think will attend the ceremony. You can even have a flutter on their big day. You can get 50/1 on Mohammed Al Fayed attending, but I think that is one rebellious step too far, even for Harry. It's 5/1 on Simon Cowell rocking up, too! Personally, my money is on The Obamas - I used this link to download the Betfair app and got 3/1 on them. Who do you think will be there?
Hubby and I got married 8 years ago next month. We didn't tell anyone and just went off one Monday Morning with our 2 witnesses, said "I do" then sent everyone a picture message of our wedding rings afterwards. A big formal wedding was definitely not on my "to do" list. To be honest, I'm a little surprised Harry and Meghan didn't say I Do in Vegas. BBC News have been my go to point for all things Royal Wedding.
My daughter, Syd is 5 and she has been invited to a Royal Wedding tea party at her friend's house on the big day. Are you planning on watching the ceremony, or doing anything to mark the occasion?
